About The Position

The Master Scheduler plays a critical role in the manufacturing industry by developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing resource utilization. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, sales, and customer service to align schedules with customer demand and inventory levels. The Master Scheduler is responsible for managing customer accounts by understanding their requirements and translating them into actionable production plans. By proactively identifying potential scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks, the role ensures smooth workflow and minimizes downtime. Ultimately, the Master Scheduler drives operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by balancing competing priorities and adapting to changing business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in production scheduling or master scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and customer account management.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Customer account management skills daily to understand client needs and ensure production schedules meet delivery expectations.
• Project management expertise is essential for coordinating cross-departmental activities, managing timelines, and mitigating risks that could impact production.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and ERP systems enables the scheduler to create accurate, dynamic schedules that respond to real-time changes.
• Strong analytical skills support the identification of inefficiencies and the development of data-driven solutions to optimize workflow.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills are critical for aligning diverse teams and maintaining transparency throughout the scheduling process.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
• Experience with ERP systems such as M1, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced data analysis skills and experience using business intelligence tools.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed master production schedules that align with customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
• Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to manage customer accounts and incorporate their requirements into scheduling plans.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays, resource constraints, or changes in demand.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory management to ensure availability of materials required for production.
• Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, forecast potential issues, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
