The Master Scheduler will be responsible for driving supply chain cycles from component part net requirements to final truck build. This role requires advanced analytical ability to review JD Edwards reporting and collaborate with planners and buyers to ensure proper manufacturing start dates. The Master Scheduler will create and distribute dispatches, collaborate with production supervisors to ensure run sequences are prioritized, and monitor shortage reports. They will set production priorities based on commitment dates, analyze capacity planning to identify potential roadblocks and recommend overtime, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Planning on Kanban and pull systems. The position ensures continuous flow through truck assembly, supports aftermarket demand by pushing service orders through near-term scheduling, and collaborates with operations leadership for capacity allocation balance. Escalating capacity issues to management is also a key responsibility. The Master Scheduler will run BOMs for trucks two weeks ahead, ensure all make parts have scheduled start dates, and collaborate with planners to confirm part availability prior to launch. They will also collaborate with the aftermarket warehouse on forecasting make parts, conduct frequent run rates of common parts to reduce changeovers or stock outs, and recommend safety stock levels. Utilizing historical throughput and future requirements, the role will recommend insourcing/outsourcing of piece part manufacturing based on Elgin core competencies. The Master Scheduler will lead continuous improvement events and perform other duties as assigned by the Materials Planning Manager.
