About The Position

The Master Scheduler plays a critical role in orchestrating and managing the comprehensive production schedule to ensure timely delivery of products and services. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, engineering, and sales to align resources and capacity with demand forecasts. The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing master production schedules that balance customer requirements with operational capabilities. By proactively identifying potential scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks, the role ensures smooth workflow and minimizes downtime or delays. Ultimately, the Master Scheduler drives efficiency and supports organizational goals by maintaining a reliable and realistic production timeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain planning, or a related role.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • The Master Scheduler uses analytical skills daily to interpret demand forecasts and production data, ensuring schedules are realistic and achievable.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with multiple departments and conveying schedule changes clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and ERP software enables the Master Scheduler to create, adjust, and optimize production plans efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills are applied to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or resource constraints proactively.
  • Additionally, knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement supports ongoing enhancements to scheduling processes and overall operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in discrete or process manufacturing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the master production schedule based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, engineering, and sales teams to ensure alignment of schedules and resource availability.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays, changes in demand, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Communicate schedule status and changes to stakeholders and provide timely reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Utilize scheduling software and ERP systems to manage and optimize production plans.
