High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency dedicated to treating and preventing substance use disorders and mental illness. Our programs across Southeastern Massachusetts offer a comprehensive continuum of care, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. We also support survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. Requirements

Must always present as courteous and professional
Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner
An understanding of the relationship between substance uses and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries
Reinforce rules in a respectful manner
Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations
TB/Flu and Covid19 Assessment
Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program
CPR Certification
Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of supervised substance use and/or mental health disorder counseling experience preferred

Responsibilities

Crisis intervention
Maintain assigned caseload
Providing clinical services to patients – including required assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
Making referrals when appropriate
Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records, maintaining professional, complete and thorough entries made in a timely manner
Responsible connecting patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding them in family access services when appropriate
Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients request
Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Director
Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses
Always utilize standards precautions
Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights
Completion of all required external clinical communications including court/DCF/DMH monthly compliance reports, evaluation summaries, other requested external documentation
Ability to provide clinical services through in-person and telehealth modalities
Maintain professional license in good standing, as applicable
Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director, Program Administrator, or Site Director
