About The Position

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency dedicated to treating and preventing substance use disorders and mental illness. Our programs across Southeastern Massachusetts offer a comprehensive continuum of care, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. We also support survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. Requirements

  • Must always present as courteous and professional
  • Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance uses and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries
  • Reinforce rules in a respectful manner
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations
  • TB/Flu and Covid19 Assessment
  • Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program
  • CPR Certification
  • Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of supervised substance use and/or mental health disorder counseling experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Crisis intervention
  • Maintain assigned caseload
  • Providing clinical services to patients – including required assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
  • Making referrals when appropriate
  • Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records, maintaining professional, complete and thorough entries made in a timely manner
  • Responsible connecting patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding them in family access services when appropriate
  • Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients request
  • Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Director
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses
  • Always utilize standards precautions
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights
  • Completion of all required external clinical communications including court/DCF/DMH monthly compliance reports, evaluation summaries, other requested external documentation
  • Ability to provide clinical services through in-person and telehealth modalities
  • Maintain professional license in good standing, as applicable
  • Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director, Program Administrator, or Site Director
