A Master Planner plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing an organization's production planning to ensure efficient use of resources and meet business objectives. Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for a Master Planner:

Requirements

  • Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in production planning, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze forecast demand and manage data, proficiency in ERP systems, excellent communication and coordination abilities, proficiency in Excel, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement master production schedules (MPS) to meet customer demands and company objectives.
  • Coordinate with various departments (sales, production, purchasing) to forecast and plan production.
  • Analyze and monitor demand and supply trends, making necessary adjustments to the plan.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the production process.
  • Optimize resource allocation to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and reduce excess.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of the master plan.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
  • Create, Roll Out & Maintain SOP (Standard Operating Processes) initiative for the Planning department.
  • Gather and coordinate KPI metrics for Weekly/Monthly meetings.
