About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Master Planner I to join its organization. This role involves providing support to the research, development, implementation, and maintenance of integrated master plans and schedules, processes, and practices. The Master Planner I will be responsible for monitoring and measuring progress, identifying and addressing program-wide issues, and handling tasks related to integrated master schedules and plans received from project management and external agencies. This position will assist in integrating the activities of all functions within the contract to ensure smooth operation and achievement of objectives. The role requires assisting in the definition and articulation of program problems, and proposing and implementing workable solutions, which may involve extrapolative thinking. Clear communication of issues and resolutions to project management, both verbally and in writing, is essential. The Master Planner I will also prepare presentations for senior management with metrics and data explanations, and assist in customer negotiations to gain a BAE Systems advantage in program scheduling and management. Responsibilities include managing contract deliverables related to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Master Plan (IMP), and coordinating program-wide review meetings by preparing agendas and minutes. The individual will also assist in closing follow-up actions from these reviews and may lead program review meetings for scheduling. A key aspect of the role is understanding the impact of schedule issues on program and EVMS reporting, as well as internal financial projects like IPBBs and QBRs. The Master Planner I will support staff in preparing for internal and external audits and provide direction to lower-level staff. Continuous learning in relevant disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications is expected, along with advising management on new developments. Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with safety policies are also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or work experience considered in lieu of education.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with IPT leads, program management, and customer representatives.
  • Ability to learn how to maintain integrated program plan and schedule system that analyzes, integrates, and formats cost/schedule information to program management and customers.
  • Ability to learn of overall program life cycle activities and how they relate to the integrated master schedule and the claiming of earned value.
  • Ability to function with direct guidance and achieve job objectives with a degree of independence.
  • Ability to learn schedule tools such as Open Plan, Microsoft Project and Excel spreadsheets to assist the IPT's in development of meaningful schedules.

Responsibilities
