About The Position

H.B. Fuller seeks a Master Mechanic to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime through reliability-centered practices. This role partners with operations to analyze failures, implement preventive strategies, and execute maintenance work safely. Success is measured by asset uptime, quality of documentation, and continuous improvement results.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • CMRT certification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Working knowledge of RCM and CMMS documentation standards.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or apprenticeship in maintenance/mechanical field.
  • Experience applying RCA methodologies with measurable outcomes.
  • Certification or training in predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Proven record of Lean improvements (e.g., reduced downtime or waste).
  • Experience maintaining pneumatic packaging equipment and industrial mixers.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (no programming required).
  • Familiarity with pressurized systems and industrial mixing equipment.
  • Experience working in electrically rated/classified environments.
  • Bilingual communication skills (Spanish/English) to support collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE, and permit requirements (LOTO, hot work, confined space).
  • Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks per CMMS instructions.
  • Document work orders with labor time, root cause, and supporting evidence the same shift.
  • Perform condition monitoring (vibration, ultrasonic, infrared, oil analysis).
  • Support root cause analyses and implement preventive actions.
  • Identify parts/tools gaps; coordinate sourcing to complete jobs.
  • Maintain 5S standards; report safety and housekeeping issues.
  • Drive waste reduction and cost savings using Lean principles.
  • Maintain and repair packaging equipment, including tube crimping systems (pneumatics).
  • Service mixers (e.g., double-shaft up to 500 gallons) and pressurized systems.
  • Troubleshoot motor-driven systems and perform basic PLC fault diagnostics.
  • Perform maintenance in electrically classified areas following safety standards.
