About The Position

Mr. Handyman is hiring an experienced, highly skilled handyman to perform small- to medium-sized maintenance and repair projects for residential and commercial customers. Projects may last from two hours to two days. The handyman will communicate with customers about their needs, explain the scope and costs of work, and provide a high-quality customer experience that encourages repeat business. The role involves working independently, documenting work according to the Mr. Handyman Way, invoicing and collecting payments, sourcing needed materials, and maintaining a professional appearance and clean company vehicle. The position requires at least 10 years of paid handyman experience, residence within the service area, ownership and maintenance of personal tools, English communication skills, and eligibility to drive an insured company vehicle. Compensation is $60,000 to $80,000+ annually, depending on experience.

Requirements

Must live within the service area.
At least 10 years of paid experience as a handyman.
Must own and maintain a set of tools.
Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
Must successfully complete a background check, driving record check, and drug screening.
Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
Able to work safely at heights and perform overhead tasks for extended periods.
Strong proficiency in carpentry, bathroom improvements, kitchen improvements, interior and exterior painting, minor and major drywall repairs, general plumbing and electrical where allowed by law, floor installation and refurbishing, and familiarity with building codes.
Must be able to self-manage while working alone, provide excellent customer service, ask for reviews, collect payments, use technology, and follow the established work process.

Nice To Haves

Spanish language skills are a plus but are not required.

Responsibilities

Complete small- to medium-sized maintenance and repair work on residential and commercial projects.

Maintain a professional appearance and keep the company-provided vehicle clean and presentable.
Use proper PPE and booties to protect customers’ homes.
