About The Position

The Master Level Automotive Technician is responsible for performing advanced car maintenance and repair tasks, inspecting vehicles for potential problems, and troubleshooting issues to ensure vehicle is performing appropriately and the customer is taken care of. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of automotive repair, with a skill level comparable to a Master Technician, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment while providing top-quality service. The technician will perform skilled mechanical work, including diagnosis and repair of drivetrain, electrical, brake, and air conditioning systems, as well as preventative maintenance. Continuous learning of new technical information and techniques is essential to stay current with automotive technology. The role also requires demonstrating company values in all interactions and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ in automotive repair services
  • Engine/diagnostic experience in a professional capacity
  • Must have expired or current ASE Certifications
  • Must have a minimum of $25,000 in technician tools
  • Available to commute 45 minutes to the Iowa City shop
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate and drive vehicles
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Performs skilled mechanical work while analyzing, diagnosing problems and all aspects of mechanical automotive repairs including drivetrain, electrical, brake and air conditioning diagnosis etc.
  • Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on automobiles
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values in all interaction with customers, co-workers, managers, and suppliers
  • Must be able to work as a team and independently
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
