About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Master Electrician to lead electrical operations across commercial, and industrial projects. In this role, you will design electrical layouts, secure necessary permits, oversee complex installations, and ensure strict compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. This is a Specialist level position for licensed Master Electricians who provide primary electrical engineering support, site supervision, and technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Master Electrician License in good standing preferred with state and local regulatory boards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, arc flash safety (NFPA 70E), and ISO safety guidelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of single-phase and three-phase power systems, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and power distribution infrastructure.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and complexly troubleshoot electrical faults, voltage drops, and equipment failures.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostic tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, power quality analyzers, thermal imaging).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, single-line schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to perform load calculations, conduit fill calculations, and power factor analysis.
  • Ability to manage several electrical projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including city inspectors, general contractors, engineers, and clients.
  • Three to six years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and distribution of site electrical utilities (high/low voltage power, backup generators, transformers, and control panels) to supply reliable power for commercial, or industrial operations.
  • Ensures all electrical work and physical job sites are always in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and local municipal regulations.
  • Provides technical direction to field crews, journeymen, and apprentices, directing them in non-routine wiring, high-voltage setups, and system troubleshooting as applicable.
  • Works with management and engineering staff to formulate plans on electrical gear placement, panel upgrades, and equipment replacement as necessary.
  • Coordinates electrical contract services, utility hookups, municipal inspections, and safety audits as necessary.
  • Manages multiple electrical installations and service projects varying in complexity using solid project management skills and diagnostic tools.
  • Drives the electrical supplier and sub-contractor selection process and ensures that all material orders and requisitions are placed with all the necessary electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and documentation.
  • Monitors and reports progress status of electrical builds along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, and worksite appearance to site management teams, evaluating trade contractors on these aspects.
  • Ensures compliance with ISO and site-specific Environmental and Energy Management System Standards.
  • Manages and directs EHS functions specific to electrical trade work, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, arc flash protection, hazardous material handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable government electrical and occupational safety regulations.
  • Develops new safety procedures and operational workflows to meet new or revised electrical codes and safety mandates.
  • Collaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed architectural blueprints, load calculations, and electrical schematics, making expert technical recommendations.
  • Performs periodic reviews of electrical systems, grounding networks, and job-site safety initiatives to identify and mitigate power quality issues and safety hazards.
  • Contributes to energy management objectives by deploying power-monitoring hardware, energy-efficient lighting, and control systems.
