About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining electrical equipment and distribution systems in safe operating condition. This includes making repairs, performing preventative maintenance, installing new equipment, and conducting safety testing on all electrical components within the facility. The role requires independent effort with limited supervision, establishing a course of action, developing methods to achieve results, and recommending or implementing practices and procedures within the area of expertise. The incumbent will also guide and oversee maintenance Zone Mechanics and other trade-specific mechanics when they are assigned to perform electrical work.

Requirements

  • Completed apprenticeship program.
  • Satisfied licensing requirements for master electrician.
  • Licensed Master Electrician in the State of Maryland.
  • License must be kept active and in good standing.
  • 7 years of related work experience.
  • Strong Communications Skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills.
  • Ability to maintain proper records and operational data.
  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to accurately document pertinent information either by writing or typing.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
