About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking an Electrician to work on a project in Southeast Virginia. The qualified applicant will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and digital tunnel and bridge systems equipment. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of field electrical experience in preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical components, as well as troubleshooting and repairing electrical components up to 480 VAC 3 phase systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of field electrical experience performing preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical components.
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical components up to and including 480 VAC 3 phase systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment, and systems used in the electrical trade.
  • Experience utilizing electrical schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Experienced in and/or knowledgeable of traffic monitoring and control systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Licensed Master Electrician.
  • Must have an active Journeyman or Masters Electrician License from DPOR in the state of VA.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • DMV records check is required.
  • Pre-employment drug screen is required.
  • Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check is required.
  • 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate and perform work in a bucket truck.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical wiring system and components in accordance with the National Electrical Code and Industry Standards.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
  • Inspect electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance actions.
  • Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; make rough sketches; estimate cost, time and materials of electrical work.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.
  • Maintain, test and repair electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan the layout and wiring of new or existing installations.
  • Fabricate electrical parts; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable exterior and interior safety codes and regulations.
  • Inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop.
  • Clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems.
  • Analyze electrical plant operational characteristics and make recommendations to correct deficiencies and respond safely and appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Operate and perform work in a bucket truck.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by a supervisor and/or USF Senior Project Manager.
