About The Position

DHT Group is seeking a high-level Master Diesel Technician / Shop Leader for their Reese, Michigan location. This is a leadership opportunity in a high-performance, fast-paced shop, not a basic mechanic position. The ideal candidate is a technician who excels at diagnosing difficult problems, eliminating downtime, mentoring junior technicians, and keeping equipment operational. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of diesel technician experience required
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting ability strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds safely and repeatedly
  • Sufficient eyesight to inspect equipment, identify defects, and perform detailed repair work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and work in varying shop conditions
  • Must provide and maintain personal tools appropriate for the position
  • Strong attendance and dependability required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess a safety-first mindset and professional attitude
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Experience with advanced diagnostics
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with engine systems
  • Experience with drivetrain systems
  • Experience with failure analysis
  • Experience with diagnostic software platforms
  • Experience with system-level problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred but not required
  • Leadership mentality with willingness to mentor developing technicians preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diesel diagnostics and system-level troubleshooting
  • Identify and resolve high-cost failures quickly and correctly
