We are now seeking talented individuals to join our team for the following role: Title: Master Data & Materials Specialist (Manufacturing / ERP) Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Services Southeastern Container, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Master Data & Materials Specialist to manage and govern operational master data within our ERP environment. This role is responsible for item master data, BOMs, routings, inventory parameters, and warehouse structures, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple manufacturing sites. You will serve as a key liaison between Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to support effective planning, production execution, and reporting. In addition to data governance, this role provides analytical support for materials, inventory, and production performance. Responsibilities include developing reports and dashboards, analyzing trends (scrap, efficiencies, inventory levels), supporting forecasting and planning activities, and identifying improvement opportunities. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity drives reliable MRP, decision making, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or supply chain management, information technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing ERP, master data, materials planning, supply chain or inventory control.
  • Hands-on experience with item master data and BOMs; familiarity with routings/production structures and engineering change/version control processes
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel, including ability to build reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Understanding of MRP concepts and inventory control (e.g., planning parameters, safety stock, replenishment logic).
  • Proven ability to enforce data governance standards, naming conventions, and approval workflows
  • Strong cross functional verbal and written communication skills; able to coordinate across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT in a multi site environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and reporting tools (Power BI/SQL); multi site manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite full time with flexibility to support occasional off shift or weekend needs.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Create, configure, and maintain item master data within the ERP system, including inventory items, service items, non stock items, item groups, and tracking dimensions.
  • Maintain and govern BOMs, routes, and manufacturing structures, including version control and engineering change execution within ERP systems.
  • Configure and maintain inventory model groups, planning parameters, coverage groups, and lead time models to ensure accurate MRP and planning behavior.
  • Enforce data standards, naming conventions, lifecycle states, approval workflows, and duplicate prevention controls for operational master data.
  • Coordinate and support master data related requirements and changes with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Scheduling, Finance, and IT.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual supplemental data to assist management in decision making related to materials, purchasing, freight, and production.
  • Provide key financial and operational information, reports, and dashboards supporting manufacturing services and plant leadership.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost saving opportunities.
  • Review and analyze process gain/loss, production efficiencies, and material scrap, assisting the FP&A team and plant personnel in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Assist with sales forecasting, production planning, and capacity planning in support of operational forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Assist in developing and documenting best practices, procedures, and training materials related to master data, materials analysis, and system usage.
  • Participate in quality investigations, new product introductions, trials, and special projects where master data or materials analysis is required.
  • Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.
