The Master Craftsperson is a technical expert responsible for performing repairs on installations that require a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. This role requires functioning independently in a team-oriented work environment. The position involves performing technical functions related to manufacturing methods, sequence of operations, and methodology of assemblies and installations, as well as detail components. The Master Craftsperson will troubleshoot problem areas in tooling, production, assembly, aircraft systems, operations, and composites to determine causes and implement preventative actions to improve production efficiency and product quality. This role also assists in problem-solving to establish or correct planning methods for producing parts and using tooling efficiently. The Master Craftsperson interacts with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Control to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions. Additionally, this role is responsible for organizing, developing, and administering the Employee Skills Development Program, identifying and developing training requirements for tooling, test equipment, and other areas, and supporting Lean activities. Additional functions include performing tasks assigned to department mechanics or leads in their absence, complying with standard operating procedures, completing required paperwork and documentation, and adhering to all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. The role also involves ensuring aircraft interior protection, assisting in the development and implementation of related initiatives, and training subordinates in proper techniques, processes, and procedures.
