About The Position

The Master Control Specialist is responsible for the operation of the master control board and associated equipment for the production and transmission of television programs. This role ensures the smooth and timely execution of the daily broadcast schedule, including monitoring video and audio quality, operating video switchers, and managing the ingest and playback of recorded content. The specialist plays a crucial part in maintaining broadcast standards and responding to any technical issues that may arise during live or recorded broadcasts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in television broadcast operations or a related field.
  • Proficiency in operating master control equipment, including video switchers and audio consoles.
  • Understanding of broadcast signal flow and transmission standards.
  • Ability to monitor and assess video and audio quality.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to live broadcast situations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Completion of a full seven-year work history, including periods of unemployment, in the application's 'Experience and Credential' section.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Knowledge of digital television standards and formats.
