About The Position

The Master Automotive Body Technician performs the most advanced body, structural, panel, cosmetic, and vehicle restoration work on premium Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. Serving as the senior technical expert for body repair and restoration, this position independently evaluates vehicle damage, determines appropriate repair methods, and performs complex repairs using OEM specifications, advanced measuring systems, specialized tools, and precision repair techniques. Working on high-value luxury vehicles requires exceptional craftsmanship, technical judgment, and attention to fit, finish, structural integrity, and vehicle appearance. The Master Body Technician is responsible for ensuring repairs maintain Jaguar Land Rover engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, corrosion protection, quality standards, and vehicle value. The position also provides technical leadership by resolving complex body repair issues, mentoring technicians, and promoting the highest standards of workmanship and quality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • Minimum 5 years of direct automotive body repair, panel repair and vehicle restoration
  • Must have experience with Jaguar-Land Rover, Luxury vehicles, or high-end vehicles
  • Must hold a valid state-issued driver's license without restrictions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of torque specifications, precision measurement techniques, and manufacturer repair procedures.
  • Skilled in the installation, integration, and validation of high-value luxury vehicle accessories and complex vehicle systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex technical information, engineering specifications, and manufacturer procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting devices while following all applicable safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • I-CAR certification or ASE equivalent collision-repair certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, electronic, HVAC, and computer-controlled vehicle systems preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Jaguar Land Rover accessory installation procedures, engineering specifications, and quality standards preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of OEM diagnostic software, vehicle programming, module configuration, and software update procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform master-level diagnosis and repair of complex body, structural, panel, and exterior vehicle damage in accordance with Jaguar Land Rover OEM specifications.
  • Independently inspect and evaluate vehicle damage, determine repairability, identify appropriate repair methods, and recommend repair versus replacement of affected components.
  • Utilize computerized and precision measuring systems to identify dimensional deviations and restore vehicle structures, body panels, and mounting locations to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform complex repair and restoration of aluminum, high-strength steel, advanced alloys, and other specialized automotive materials using manufacturer-approved techniques.
  • Remove, repair, replace, fit, and align body panels, doors, hoods, liftgates, fenders, quarter panels, bumpers, structural components, and related assemblies.
  • Restore high-value Jaguar Land Rover vehicles to factory-level appearance, dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and quality following transportation, production, or handling damage.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation resource for difficult body, structural, fitment, water intrusion, wind noise, panel alignment, and repair-quality concerns.
  • Interpret and apply manufacturer body repair manuals, engineering specifications, repair procedures, dimensional measurements, material requirements, and technical bulletins.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of completed repairs to verify structural integrity, panel alignment, gaps, flushness, fit, finish, sealing, corrosion protection, and overall workmanship.
  • Perform precision repairs on premium luxury vehicles where improper repair techniques can result in significant vehicle damage, diminished vehicle value, warranty exposure, rework, production delays, or customer dissatisfaction.
  • Identify hidden or secondary vehicle damage discovered during disassembly and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Remove and reinstall vehicle trim, moldings, glass-related components, lighting assemblies, sensors, wiring, interior components, and other equipment necessary to complete body repairs.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, paint, quality, and diagnostic technicians when repairs involve multiple vehicle systems.
  • Recognize repairs that may affect cameras, radar sensors, parking sensors, components, or other electronic systems and ensure appropriate diagnostic or calibration procedures are initiated.
  • Perform corrosion prevention, seam sealing, cavity protection, sound-deadening, and other manufacturer-required restoration procedures following body repairs.
  • Identify recurring damage or repair-quality concerns and recommend improvements to repair methods, tooling, processes, and technician training.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and technical assignments as required to support operational objectives, customer requirements, and business needs.

  • Compensation pay range $82,848 - $95,139 per year
