Body Shop Painter 2nd Shift - Port Hueneme, CA

This role performs minor bodywork, priming, and paints vehicles back to factory standards as well as wet sand and buff vehicles after the refinishing process. The position requires availability for overtime.

Responsibilities
- Inspects body work prior to painting and preps vehicles for paint
- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated
- Inspect vehicle damage
- Apply mask tape over vehicle parts
- Buffer
- Sand
- Primer
- Bondo
- Check color codes, selects toners, and mixes paint and performs spray outs of all colors being used.
- Sprays surfaces of vehicles back to factory standards then applies clear coat.
- Use of PPG Color Match System
- Inspect body work prior to painting
- Mix paint to produce desired color
- Paint vehicle inside Heated spray booth (temp of 90-160 F)
- Cleans spraying equipment with solvent
- Disposal of paint / materials
- Assist in other production departments as needed.
