Massage Therapist (PT) (AM/PM)
About The Position
The Massage Therapist contributes to guests’ well-being by ensuring appropriate treatments and screening for contraindications. The role provides professional, gracious service and high-quality treatments at The Catamaran Spa, a beachfront spa at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, California. The spa offers services inspired by South Pacific and Asian healing traditions and uses marine- and botanical-based products. This part-time position is listed for day/evening shifts and pays $19.00 per hour. The role requires current credentials and licenses as applicable, and availability to work weekends and holidays. The position is filled in accordance with the cited California and San Diego labor provisions. The posted pay range describes the hourly wage reasonably expected during the first year and does not include possible gratuities, service charges, commissions, or bonuses.
Requirements
- Two-year associate degree, trade school degree, professional certification, or equivalent; a combination of experience, education, and/or training may substitute for this requirement.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience and/or training; a combination of experience, education, and/or training may substitute for this requirement.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, potentially for an entire shift, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience dealing with the public, such as retail cashier, food industry service, or guest service involving public contact.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate guests’ health conditions and provide high-quality treatments in a safe environment.
- Inform guests of the treatment steps to follow.
- Prepare treatment rooms for upcoming treatments and maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
- Promote spa products and services.
- Ensure spa facilities are well maintained.
- Follow company safety and emergency procedures.
- Maintain current credentials and licenses required by applicable city, county, and state agencies.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
