Massage Therapist (PT) (AM/PM) ("Masajista")
About The Position
The Massage Therapist ("Masajista") contributes to our guests' well-being by ensuring proper treatments and screening for contraindications. Provides the highest level of professionalism, gracious service and treatment quality offered to our guests. The Catamaran Spa is San Diego’s only beachfront spa, inspired by South Pacific and Asian healing traditions, offering relaxing services that feature marine and botanical-based products. The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is owned by Evans Hotels, LLC, a family-owned and operated business committed to supporting and enhancing employee well-being through a variety of programs that nurture our staff professionally and personally.
Requirements
- Two-year associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training. A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Maintains current credentials and licenses as required by city, county, and state regulatory agencies.
Nice To Haves
- Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, guest servicing and running day-to-day operations.
- Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates our guests' health conditions by providing the highest quality of treatment while ensuring a safe environment for our guests.
- Prepares treatment room for upcoming treatments, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation for the department.
- Contributes to the success of the organization by promoting the products and services available at the spa.
- Ensures the facilities are well maintained.
- Follows the company's safety and emergency procedures.
- Maintains current credentials and licenses as required by city, county, and state regulatory agencies.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
