About The Position

The Denver Hospice has an immediate opening for a Massage Therapist on our Pediatrics team. This is a PRN position with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm as needed. The role involves evaluating patient goals and developing treatment plans for pediatric patients, using physical manipulation of muscles to ease various conditions, evaluating patient progress, maintaining clinical notes, and coordinating with other services to achieve therapeutic goals. The organization is a network of mission-driven, nonprofit healthcare organizations dedicated to caring for very ill, frail, and primarily elderly individuals by keeping them at home and out of the hospital while maximizing comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Massage Therapy, two years required.
  • Certified Massage Therapist required.
  • Approved registration must be in good standing with the Colorado Office of Massage Therapy Registration.
  • Current CPR certification based on individual affiliate requirements.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance with state statute.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull minimum of 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient goals and develops a treatment plan of massage therapy interventions to fit the needs, abilities and medical history of pediatric patients.
  • Use physical manipulation of muscles to ease muscle contractures, spasms, extensions, muscle relaxation and muscle tension.
  • Periodically evaluates patient's progress toward established goals.
  • Maintains clinical notes and records.
  • Coordinates the massage therapy program with other services such as clinical, psychological and social service in order to accomplish overall therapeutic goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
