About The Position
The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for client law firms. Due to increased demand, we are now interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Massachusetts Family Law Attorney. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 10–20 hours per week.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Massachusetts
- Minimum of 5+ years of Massachusetts family law experience
- Strong experience with divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support matters
- Experience with court appearances, motion practice, discovery, and case management
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and client management abilities
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters efficiently
- Self-starter who can work independently
Responsibilities
- Handle family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and related domestic relations matters
- Conduct client consultations and provide legal guidance
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, settlement agreements, and other family law documents
- Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, and other court proceedings as needed
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the legal team
- Manage cases from inception through resolution
