About The Position

This role involves various tasks related to painting and part preparation, including racking and tagging parts for traceability, processing paperwork, mixing and spraying paints according to supplier and customer requirements, and performing inventory control of paint and supplies. The position also requires inspection of painted parts, operation and calibration of paint thickness meters, preparation of parts for inspection, and visual inspection of parts. Maintaining production logs, cleaning and maintaining paint booths and equipment, and recording calibration results are also key responsibilities. The role includes locating materials, verifying part counts, completing quality documentation, resolving paint-related issues, implementing AIW techniques, checking airlines for contaminants, and training new employees. The Masker must also maintain proper paint mixing times and shelf life, and perform other duties as assigned, including overtime as required.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Understand paint mixing and disposal
  • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
  • Basic computer skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
  • Understand and obey safety requirements
  • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris

Responsibilities

  • Racks and tags parts for traceability.
  • Processes applicable paperwork for paint and ID.
  • Mixes and measures all types of paint per supplier requirements.
  • Sprays different paints per customer requirements (Primers and Topcoats).
  • Performs inventory control of paint and supplies.
  • Performs inspection checks on painted parts per customer criteria.
  • Operates paint thickness meter and calibrate as required.
  • Prepares parts with documentation for DI inspection.
  • Visually inspects parts per customer requirements.
  • Maintains all production logs and production routers per customer specs.
  • Cleans and performs maintenance work on paint booths.
  • Records calibration results in applicable logbook.
  • Locates material to proper queue.
  • Verifies part count to MRP and shop router.
  • Completes quality documentation.
  • Researches and resolves paint-related problems.
  • Implements and maintains AIW techniques.
  • Checks airlines daily for contaminates (oil, water, etc.).
  • Cleans and maintains all painting equipment at change of every shift.
  • Trains new employees on the aspects of painting.
  • Maintains proper paint mixing times and shelf life of the paint.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works overtime as required.
