About The Position

State Street Markets’ Rising Senior Summer Internship is an experiential learning program for students to explore the culture and academic environment of its Sales, Trading, and Research business lines. Internship assignments are aligned with participants’ interests and skill sets, with additional projects intended to broaden their understanding of global financial markets and the clients State Street serves. The Markets business provides research, trading, securities lending, and portfolio strategies to institutional asset owners and managers, with a focus on preserving and enhancing client portfolio value through technology, optimized trading, and connections across asset classes and markets. The 10-week summer program includes a welcome orientation, training sessions, networking opportunities, continuous training, and collaboration with experienced professionals on meaningful projects. Interns receive support from a mentor and can exchange ideas with peers, mentors, and senior leaders. Upon successful completion, rising seniors will be offered interview opportunities for placement in the full-time Markets Professional Development Program. Interns will liaise regularly with Markets business teams and support centrally managed activities, including data analytics, trend analysis, global macro research reporting, product development, and adoption of technology to improve productivity.
