About The Position

Barron's is seeking a markets reporter to cover equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. This is a core reporting role at a publication where markets journalism is central to its mission. The ideal candidate will be a sharp, curious financial journalist capable of breaking news, developing sources, and producing authoritative analysis under deadline pressure, producing content ranging from short market briefs to longer analytical features.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial journalism.
Demonstrated track record of markets coverage.
Knowledgeable about equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities.
Ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear, compelling journalism.
Strong news instincts and a feel for timing.
Fluid writer capable of shifting between short digital updates and longer analytical pieces.
Skilled at cultivating and maintaining sources across Wall Street, asset management, and corporate finance.
Comfortable working with data and collaborating with designers on charts and visualizations.
Energized by the pace of daily markets coverage while keeping longer-term stories in motion.
