About The Position

Marketing Specialist Gensler New York is looking for a Marketing Specialist who can bridge high-level strategy and high-impact production — someone whose thinking, judgment, relationships, and expertise can help shape how we pursue and win the work that matters most. At Gensler, marketers are valued not only for what they produce, but for what they bring to the table: the questions they ask, the ideas they raise, the relationships they build, and the way they sharpen how we tell our story. As a Marketing Specialist in our New York Work sector, you will partner with principals, studio leaders, designers, strategists, and fellow marketers to influence pursuit strategy, develop compelling client narratives, and position Gensler for high-impact work across financial services, professional services, legal, technology, media, and other industries. This role is part strategist, part storyteller, and part conductor. You will synthesize what a client is trying to accomplish, help sharpen the team’s strategy, and build the narrative that makes our case clear, differentiated, and memorable. You will work with a global network of marketers, based out of the largest design office in the world, with access to Gensler’s research and thought leadership platforms — including the firm’s Workplace Survey and global benchmarking data — to ground stories in real insight. The work is fast-paced and rarely the same twice: a flagship financial services headquarters one week, a global media campus the next, an AI hub the week after. This role is ideal for a marketer ready to step into broader influence — through established paths like practice-area or sector specialization, or through new ones shaped by individual strengths, emerging business needs, and the evolving ways our clients and teams work. You'll join one of the firm’s largest marketing teams — 15 marketers and communications specialists in NYC supporting work across 33 practice areas. The team brings a high level of craft, rigor, and generosity to the work. You'll work closely with them, collaborate daily, and build the kind of dynamic that only forms inside a team that takes its work seriously. In year one, you will lead pursuits, shape win strategy, and build trusted relationships with senior leaders. By year three, you’ll be a recognized voice in how the studio competes — influencing positioning, storytelling, content strategy, and business development direction. From there, the path opens in multiple directions: deeper practice-area or sector leadership, regional and firmwide initiatives, content and thought leadership, client strategy, or new areas that are becoming essential in our constantly evolving market. At Gensler, we bring the scale, complexity, and support to help strong marketers specialize, lead, or build new lanes where their interests, capabilities, and the firm’s needs intersect.
