About The Position

The Marketing Specialist is a professional-level marketing role responsible for implementing and managing assigned marketing initiatives in alignment with service line strategy established by marketing leadership. The Marketing Specialist operates as an agile, high-performing strategic partner to the marketing team. This position works under the strategic direction of marketing leadership and is accountable for independently managing day-to-day campaign planning, coordination and execution within established frameworks. Within defined strategic parameters, this position exercises discretion and independent judgment in prioritizing projects, coordinating cross-functional execution, recommending tactical approaches and resolving operational challenges. The Marketing Specialist supports the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives across Erlanger's clinical service lines by serving as a key executional partner to the Marketing Strategists. While this is not a strategist role, it is designed as a high-exposure, hands-on operational position for individuals seeking to grow into future strategic leadership roles. Working at the intersection of planning and execution, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for timely progress across campaign deliverables, maintains communication across teams, and owns day-to-day implementation tasks. This individual is expected to bring a strong sense of ownership, organization, and curiosity to every project, functioning as both a tactical project manager and collaborative liaison across the broader marketing team. For the Rural Market, Marketing and Business Development Specialist Role: In addition to fulfilling all responsibilities aligned with the Marketing Specialist role, the position supporting the rural entities also dedicates approximately 50%25 of its time to business development functions aligned with Erlanger's Business Development Department, facilitating alignment across marketing and business development functions. This dual-role structure enables greater coordination between marketing strategy and growth initiatives, particularly in the areas of physician relations, referral development, and service line expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 1- 3 years of experience in marketing, project coordination, or healthcare communications preferred (internships considered)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and basic marketing software

Responsibilities

  • Implements and manages multichannel marketing campaigns consistent with approved service line strategy.
  • Independently manages project timelines, determines task sequencing and ensures alignment across functional teams to meet campaign objectives.
  • Develops and maintains campaign documentation, performance tracking tools and reporting used to inform strategist and leadership review.
  • Collaborates with the Creative, Digital/Web, and Communications teams to assist in managing assets, collecting feedback, and coordinating timelines.
  • Serves as a liaison between strategists and functional partners, evaluating project needs and recommending workflow adjustments to support strategic goals established by marketing strategists.
  • Communicates needs clearly and respectfully across departments, with a focus on shared success and transparency.
  • Leads operational components of creative briefs, digital content calendars, and internal presentations.
  • Reviews marketing materials and digital content for brand consistency, accuracy and compliance, escalating strategic considerations to the Marketing Strategist as appropriate.
  • Develops and manages service line marketing webpages, digital listings, and internal communications updates, coordinating closely with resource teams.
  • Builds foundational knowledge of healthcare marketing, service line strategy, digital engagement, and brand stewardship.
  • Develops agendas and actively participates in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and marketing workshops to deepen strategic understanding.
  • Demonstrates initiative and pursues mentorship and feedback with an eye toward long-term advancement.
