About The Position

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting and executing marketing initiatives for both corporate and local store operations. This position works closely with marketing and sales teams to coordinate innovative campaigns, manage vendor relationships and co-op funding, support corporate events, and ensure local branches have the marketing materials and resources needed to promote business growth. The Marketing Specialist also assists with tracking campaign performance, compiling marketing data and reports, coordinating employee recognition programs, and promoting the company brand to both internal and external audiences through effective communication and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of marketing, communications, event planning, or related experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, Event/Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Experience coordinating marketing campaigns, events, vendor relationships, or promotional activities preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems, CRM, or project management software preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create effective marketing and business communications.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when tracking budgets, co-op funds, reimbursements, and event logistics.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend strategies that support company goals and marketing objectives.
  • Ability to assess situations, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary company information.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed, including occasional evening or weekend travel for events.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vendors to maximize marketing opportunities, promotional support, and co-op funding for the company.
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors regarding marketing programs, advertising participation, and promotional initiatives.
  • Track available vendor co-op funds, including funds requested, approved, spent, and reimbursed.
  • Provide updates to the Marketing Director and Purchasing/Supply leadership regarding vendor marketing and co-op activity.
  • Coordinate vendor participation in marketing campaigns including promotions, tabloids, e-blasts, direct mail, social media, digital advertising, and traditional advertising efforts.
  • Ensure branch locations receive current vendor marketing materials and product support resources.
  • Ensure vendor co-op requirements, documentation, and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate and oversee corporate and regional meetings, events, and training functions.
  • Manage event logistics including venue selection, travel coordination, catering, audio/visual needs, materials preparation, and scheduling.
  • Assist with venue proposals, contracts, hotel room blocks, and other event arrangements as needed.
  • Work closely with leadership teams and vendors to ensure events are professionally organized and successfully executed.
  • Support company-sponsored customer, contractor, vendor, and community events as needed.
  • Assist with on-site event coordination and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating Mead Legacy product information, pricing, materials, and website content.
  • Update product pricing and data within company systems and marketing materials.
  • Monitor and report sales activity related to the Mead Legacy program.
  • Support ongoing product and marketing initiatives related to company programs and branded offerings.
  • Maintain regular communication with branch locations and Regional Marketing Managers to support marketing needs and ensure stores have current promotional materials.
  • Distribute updated vendor and promotional materials to branch locations as new products and programs become available.
  • Gather feedback from branch teams regarding marketing effectiveness, promotional opportunities, and local advertising needs.
  • Assist with local contractor, builder, and community marketing events as requested.
  • Partner with branch management and sales teams to support local marketing initiatives and drive customer engagement.
  • Support company-wide promotions, seasonal initiatives, and regional marketing programs as assigned.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, marketing strategies, advertising methods, and emerging technologies.
  • Research and share relevant marketing insights, trends, and recommendations with the marketing team and leadership.
  • Attend industry webinars, workshops, conferences, and networking events to support professional development and industry knowledge.
  • Participate in industry organizations and professional groups related to marketing, advertising, and brand development.
