About The Position

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is Hong Kong’s statutory body for promoting Hong Kong’s trade with the world. Its New York Regional Office is inviting applications for the following position: Marketing Manager (on-site position at our New York office) Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa such as a H-1B, TN, or O visa. We do not support or provide training for STEM/OPT programs.

Requirements

  • A recognised university degree with at least 8 years of solid working experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc.
  • Strong interests and understanding of Hong Kong economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong companies
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Self-motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability
  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
  • A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Mature with superior skills in marketing and communication
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Chinese will be a plus

Responsibilities

  • To focus on special projects deemed important to the council (ex. Belt & Road Initiative, Joint Investment mission, and Think Asia Think Hong Kong).
  • To handle logistics arrangements for the Council’s participation in trade shows, seminars and conferences in the US.
  • To collect market intelligence, research and produce IMNs in relation to outreach projects.
  • To recruit companies, major buyers, VIPS to exhibit or attend HKTDC trade fairs, signature/mega events and conferences
  • To promote the use of all portals (including hktdc.com, SOZ, RFQ, HK Trader, asiaIPex.com, Belt & Road, research, etc).
  • Relationship building, nurturing, managing and cultivating existing and new relationships. (focus on services industries, e-commerce and key multipliers).
