About The Position

This role is for a Marketing Manager of Academic Health Systems (AHS) located in Raritan, NJ. The position requires being in the office three times per week and involves up to 40% domestic travel. The primary purpose of this role is to partner with Key Account Management Directors (KADs), Strategic System Leads (SSLs), the field sales organization (FSO), Professional Education, Specialty and Platform Marketing to create a KOL engagement model for prioritized Academic Health Systems. The Marketing Manager will co-lead clinical and non-clinical KOL advisory groups to gather insights that will inform strategies to enhance Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery's competitiveness and drive growth in this key segment. This involves building relationships with KOLs and influencers in priority Academic Health Systems, identifying organizational needs for evidence generation, faculty recruitment, and new technology development partnerships, and connecting the appropriate KOLs to fulfill these needs. The role requires close collaboration with a peer Marketing Manager for AHS, the Manager of US Professional Education for AHS, and the Senior Manager for AHS to ensure coordinated and strategically aligned actions. The Marketing Manager is responsible for delivering against specified budgets and timeframes while ensuring compliance with all relevant company regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 3 years of relevant business experience in Sales/Marketing is required.
  • Experience in customer selling and interaction is required.
  • Ability to be on-site 3 times per week in the Raritan, NJ office and travel 40% or more required.
  • Medical Device experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration, project management and organizational influence skills are required.

  • Experience in Marketing and/or Professional Education is preferred.
  • Experience working with a large teaching hospital is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with KOLs, residents, and fellows is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of brand marketing, digital marketing, and marketing communications is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on leadership, relationship development, and influence management are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Travel up to 40% within the calendar year to execute advisory boards, society meetings, customer visits, and site visits.
  • Collaborate with Professional Education, members of the FSO, specialty and platform Marketing, and KAM to create an enduring KOL influencer map and devise an actionable KOL engagement model for aligned AHS.
  • Collaborate with AHS KOL Engagement peer and Senior Manager of AHS to ensure actions are in sync and approach is coordinated and strategically aligned.
  • Partner with Professional Education, KAM, and FSO to build clinical and non-clinical KOL advisory groups from prioritized AHS, and conduct routine engagements to extract insights that inform strategies and customized account plans.
  • Build, engage, and activate an extensive network of KOLs from priority AHS.
  • Collaborate with FSO, KAM and other cross-functional partners to create customized account plans for influencers within prioritized AHS to drive JNJ MedTech Surgery competitiveness and deliver sustained growth.
  • Collaborate with FSO, KAM, Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA), Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) and other cross-functional partners to deploy valuable resources in priority Academic Health Systems to drive competitive conversions.
  • Actively participate in AHS core team to provide real time KOL insights and employ a fail fast mentality to deliver results.
  • Manage key agency relationships, including involvement in selection process, building relationships with agency management and agency evaluation process and review.
  • Actively participate in business planning as part of the AHS core team.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to annual budget.
