About The Position

Venture for Canada is seeking a Marketing Lead to join their marketing team. This role involves conducting research, analyzing market trends and audience insights, and developing actionable marketing strategies and high-quality content. The Marketing Lead will identify opportunities, make recommendations, and create compelling marketing assets such as articles, social media content, presentations, campaign materials, website copy, and email content to support recruitment, engagement, partnerships, and thought leadership. The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, creative, and adept at transforming research into content that informs, inspires, and drives action. Venture for Canada is a national registered charity focused on equipping talent with entrepreneurial skills for a changing economy.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on marketing experience, with demonstrated experience developing strategies, managing campaigns, creating content, and using data to improve audience engagement and impact.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and content creation skills, with experience developing articles, social media content, email campaigns, presentations, website copy, and other marketing assets.
  • Strong research and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience analyzing marketing performance and using data to optimize campaigns.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate research, content creation, and marketing workflows while applying sound judgment.
  • Experience using Canva (or similar) to create professional marketing assets and presentations.
  • Highly curious, proactive, and self-motivated, with a passion for learning, identifying opportunities, and turning ideas into action.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Workspace, WordPress, Slack, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Analytics, and other marketing technologies.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is considered a strong asset.
  • Preference may be given to candidates based in the Toronto, Ontario area to support occasional in-person collaboration.
  • Light in-person attendance of program-related events may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling, high-quality content that supports Venture for Canada's brand, programs, partnerships, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Create content across multiple formats, including thought leadership articles, social media content, website copy, email campaigns and newsletters, presentations and executive summaries, and marketing collateral and campaign assets.
  • Translate research, market trends, and audience insights into engaging content that educates, informs, and inspires action.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to simplify complex topics into clear, audience-focused communications.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Venture for Canada’s brand voice, messaging framework, and strategic priorities.
  • Conduct research on competitors, programs, events, policies, and initiatives relevant to Venture for Canada.
  • Monitor trends across entrepreneurship, workforce development, AI, Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), youth employment, and related sectors.
  • Conduct audience research to better understand motivations, behaviours, barriers, and engagement opportunities.
  • Support positioning, messaging, campaign development, and go-to-market planning through research and market insights.
  • Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and trends that may influence Venture for Canada’s marketing strategy and organizational priorities.
  • Translate research and insights into actionable marketing strategies and campaign recommendations.
  • Support the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, email, website, events, and partnerships.
  • Develop campaign briefs, messaging frameworks, and marketing plans for new initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment, engagement, partnerships, and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate across teams to bring marketing initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance across channels including Google Analytics, HubSpot, LinkedIn, Meta, email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and other marketing technologies.
  • Develop regular dashboards and executive reports highlighting performance, trends, and recommendations.
  • Analyze campaign performance, audience engagement, conversion rates, and user behaviour.
  • Measure marketing initiatives against organizational objectives and recommend optimizations.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement through data-informed decision making.
  • Design, administer, and analyze surveys.
  • Support conferences, sponsorships, events, webinars, and community-building initiatives.
  • Analyze CRM and audience data to improve segmentation, personalization, and targeting strategies.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, content creation, ideation, and workflow efficiency while maintaining strong editorial judgment and critical thinking.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in marketing, AI, communications, and entrepreneurship, proactively sharing opportunities with the team.
