About The Position

Working at ESPN means helping shape how sports fans experience the biggest moments in sports across every platform. From breaking news and live events to studio shows and original storytelling, ESPN reaches millions of fans each day through social media, television, streaming, and digital platforms. We are looking for interns to join one or more of our exciting teams supporting ESPN Sports Marketing or ESPN Creative Studio! Each role offers unique opportunities to contribute to meaningful work. Candidates may be considered for more than one opportunity based on skills and experience. The approximate dates for this internship are January – May 2027.

Requirements

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and projects
  • Experience or coursework in marketing, creative production, post-production, or a related area, with an understanding of relevant industry principles and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Organized and proactive self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds
  • Creative and innovative mindset, with an interest in developing engaging marketing, content, or storytelling solutions
  • Editing experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and/or After Effects, or demonstrated experience with similar non-linear editing tools
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship program in the New York City area
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 40 hours each week

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, campus, academic, or project experience related to sports marketing, creative production, or post-production editing
  • Working knowledge of the sports and media landscape, including major sports leagues, ESPN’s portfolio, and direct-to-consumer platforms
  • Interest in current trends, culture, social media, and emerging technologies and how they can influence marketing and creative storytelling
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of partners, including marketers, editors, producers, and production teams
  • Demonstrated interest in creative storytelling, content development, and audience engagement across platforms
  • Senior year preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Communications, Marketing, Sports Media or related major preferred
  • A cover letter indicating your top area of interest is preferred
  • A portfolio showcasing your creative work is required as part of the application process for the Creative Studio opportunity

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of various marketing strategies and campaigns across MLB, Golf, Tennis, and Lacrosse on ESPN portfolio, including Spring priorities (MLB.TV, PGA Tour Live, Masters and Australian Open).
  • Use technical editing background and experience to learn about the editing sports content process relevant to ESPN-produced studio & event productions.
