About The Position

The City of Oak Creek's Marketing & Public Relations team is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and detail-oriented intern to gain hands-on experience in multimedia marketing within a local government setting. This role involves creating engaging content, promoting events, and assisting with event logistics, offering a great opportunity to grow skills, collaborate with a team, and make a difference in the community.

Requirements

• Full-time college student studying marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, media studies, or a related field.
• Good understanding of social media and digital marketing.
• Comfortable with tech tools like Microsoft Office, Sprout Social, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Outgoing, extroverted, and not afraid to talk to people, take their photos or get them on video.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with digital photography, design and photo editing.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging content for the City’s social media channels.
• Shoot and edit videos for internal and external use.
• Write magazine and newsletter articles.
• Assist with the planning and promotion of local events.
• Interact with the community at events.
• Collaborate with team members and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
• Proofread and edit marketing materials.
• Perform various marketing and communication tasks as needed.
