About The Position

Marriott Vacations Worldwide is a global leader in the vacation ownership industry, offering a lifetime of memorable vacations through its numerous properties worldwide. The College Internship Program - Marketing and Sales is an immersion program designed to provide participants with work experience in a Sales Center. Interns will engage in comprehensive onboarding, operational duties, eLearning, virtual meetings with leaders, job shadowing, and mentorship. The program is typically 10-12 weeks long and requires a full-time schedule. Interns will learn and perform job duties within their assigned department, potentially including the role of a non-commissioned marketing associate, with exposure to commission-based roles and the sales department. They will also learn about successful Marketing and Sales operations and contribute to relevant projects, while demonstrating the company's values.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a college degree.
  • Must be able to commute to Kapolei, HI, local preferred.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation Policy Marketing and Sales Standards of Appearance.
  • If a uniform is provided, must wear the appropriate uniform, neat and clean at all times.
  • Non-uniformed interns should dress with good business taste and in clothing appropriate to their jobs.
  • Dress or skirt length should be no shorter than four inches above the knee.
  • Must wear proper undergarments.
  • Corporate office interns must adhere to policy EMP-20 Corporate Office Business Dress Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual Japanese/English is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred that the candidate is actively pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Sales or Business.
  • Candidates who have an undecided major may also be considered.
  • Prior Hospitality or Sales experience preferred.
  • Past Interns who are interested in completing an additional internship will be considered first.
  • Previous performance rating will be taken into consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist at the Marketing department providing customer service and assistance to all owners and guests.
  • Learn and perform the job duties of the position(s) within their assigned department.
  • Learn and master the role of a non-commissioned marketing associate.
  • Gain exposure to commission-based roles and the sales department.
  • Participate in department projects.
  • Learn components of what drives a successful Marketing and Sales operation on site.
  • Contribute to important marketing and sales matters.
  • Demonstrate the company’s values and core beliefs.
