About The Position

La Vaquita Flea Market is one of the Southeast's largest Hispanic marketplaces, drawing tens of thousands of shoppers every operating weekend. We are seeking a Marketing & Events Manager to build and run our marketing and events operating system, reporting directly to the CEO. This role involves designing the calendar, directing contractors, owning measurement, building the sponsorship product, and executing events. Professional fluency in both Spanish and English is required, with most output being Spanish-first.

Requirements

  • Four or more years running marketing programs, events, or both.
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English: read, write, speak.
  • Experience running a marketing or content operation at a regular publishing cadence, with metrics.
  • Experience with two or more events or activations shipped, with budget, timeline, and results.
  • Experience directing contractors or agencies, with budget ownership and experience solving at least one performance problem.
  • Commercial judgment: understanding why an advertiser buys, and experience building, presenting, negotiating, or closing something with real dollars attached.
  • Strong project-management discipline across several simultaneous workstreams.
  • Comfort being measured weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the marketing system and audience growth, including the marketing plan, campaign and content calendar, publishing, channel strategy, audience-growth initiatives, measurement and reporting, Google Business Profile and review response, and website relaunch.
  • Design and deliver the signature event calendar, owning event strategy, program design, budgets, community partnerships, promotion, commercial inventory, and results.
  • Map, package, and maintain the market's sponsorable assets (digital screens, physical positions, media relationships, event assets), manage opportunities, close standard opportunities, and own fulfillment and relationship administration.
  • Brief, scope, budget, schedule, and quality-control content, design, and paid-media contractors.
  • Manage brand standards, public rating trajectory, community presence, and a weekly scorecard, reporting on performance and planned changes.

Benefits

  • Base salary: $85,000 to $100,000, depending on experience.
  • Target performance bonus: 10% of base, tied to quarterly goals.
