About The Position

Birdeye is looking for a Marketing Engineer to help reimagine how modern marketing teams operate in the AI era. This is not a traditional marketing role. It is not a traditional engineering role either. It is a builder role for someone who sees a marketing problem and immediately thinks: What can I automate? What agent can I build? What workflow can I make smarter? You will work directly with marketing, sales, RevOps, and growth teams to build internal AI tools, agents, automations, and experiments that help Birdeye move faster and scale smarter. One week you may build an AI workflow that helps BDRs personalize outbound by vertical. The next, you may prototype a voice agent for event follow-up, automate competitive research, create a content repurposing agent, or build a tool that turns customer insights into campaign recommendations. This role is ideal for an early-career builder with 1-3 years of experience who is deeply curious about LLMs, agents, automation, and marketing systems. You should be the kind of person who experiments with AI tools on your own, builds side projects for fun, and gets excited about using technology to eliminate repetitive work. This role reports into Marketing and will work closely with senior marketing leadership.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical, engineering, AI, growth, automation, product, or marketing systems role.
  • Strong hands-on experience building with AI tools, LLMs, agents, APIs, or automation platforms.
  • Technical fluency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, LangChain, Zapier, Make, n8n, Replit, Cursor, Vercel, Retool, Airtable, or similar platforms.
  • Strong curiosity about agentic workflows, prompt engineering, retrieval, tool use, evals, and practical AI automation.
  • Ability to turn a vague business problem into a working prototype quickly.
  • Strong product sense and an instinct for making tools simple, useful, and usable.
  • Comfort working with messy business inputs, not just clean technical specs.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to explain technical ideas in plain English.
  • High agency, strong ownership, and a bias toward building instead of waiting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with marketing, growth, sales, CRM systems, outbound automation, SEO, content operations, or analytics.
  • Research, coursework, side projects, GitHub work, papers, or open-source contributions related to LLMs, agents, automation, or AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-powered tools, agents, and workflows that solve real marketing and go-to-market problems.
  • Create internal assistants and automation systems for BDR outbound, account research, sales enablement, content generation, event follow-up, competitive analysis, and campaign operations.
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to identify repetitive, manual, or slow workflows that can be automated or accelerated with AI.
  • Prototype quickly using LLMs, APIs, no-code/low-code tools, scripts, workflow automation platforms, and agent frameworks.
  • Turn unstructured inputs such as account names, verticals, transcripts, call notes, web pages, and CRM data into usable recommendations, copy, summaries, and actions.
  • Build tools that help teams create better emails, LinkedIn messages, call scripts, landing page briefs, competitive insights, and campaign ideas.
  • Experiment with voice agents, text agents, video agents, and workflow agents to improve marketing execution.
  • Maintain a practical library of prompts, workflows, tools, and reusable automation patterns for the marketing team.
  • Work with RevOps and data teams to connect marketing systems, CRM data, product signals, and third-party sources where appropriate.
  • Measure usage, adoption, impact, and quality of the tools you build.
  • Stay close to the latest AI tools and bring new ideas into Birdeye’s marketing operating model.
