Job Summary The Marketing Development Manager will act as an influential leader providing analytical direction to the marketing function and broader commercial organization. Serving as a strategic business partner, the Marketing Development Manager will lead several key initiatives within Marketing, and they will be responsible for conducting analyses, synthesizing key insights, and providing practical recommendations which inform decision-making across the organization. This role will have direct accountability for (3) functions: Digital Strategy Development, E-Commerce Channel Growth, and Marketing Development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance or Engineering required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in CPG and/ or management consulting
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills translating data into actionable insights with a path to implementation.
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills with the ability to explain difficult concepts succinctly.

Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy Development Manage large scale, highly visible marketing projects that require strategic thought leadership, workplan management and cross-functional collaboration (e.g. digital architecture development, IT and software capability assessment, etc.)
  • Develop the long-term strategic planning process for Interstate Business-to-Consumer (B2C) sales channel through digital assets such as InterstateBatteries.com, NAC microsites, Amazon and other marketplaces
  • Lead cross-functional partners (e.g., Digital, E-Commerce, Sales, and IT) to facilitate the go- to-market plans by digital channel, brand, and customer, forecast market demand, and prioritize ongoing projects.
  • E-Commerce Channel Growth Provide customer segmentation and analysis to E-Commerce channel leadership, analyzing across volume, growth potential, and other key characteristics
  • Collaborate and assist commercial leadership with executing B2B and B2C channel strategies; provide performance management indicators on effectiveness
  • Manage and communicate actionable insights that enable commercial growth objectives developed through customer trend analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry research
  • Marketing Development Lead team through ad hoc analyses and studies to answer key commercial hypotheses or questions focused on growth (e.g. customer acquisition, IT capability gap analysis, etc.)
  • Lead team on developing and delivering compelling business cases/ storylines to ensure latest insights and market trends are understood and actioned (e.g. E-Commerce channel support/ recommendations)
  • Identify, communicate, and lead enhancements for departmental processes to accelerate time-to-market (e.g. new product launch, etc.)
