About The Position

The Marketing Coordinator III (Part-Time) position is a part of the Dean's Office and reports to the Manager of Marketing and Communications. This position collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Manager to extend, guide, execute and uphold the University of Louisville's brand, and the SPHIS identity through a variety of creative projects including advertising, photography, videography, publications, web/mobile media, etc. Applicants should be comfortable and experienced designing for both traditional print as well as digital applications, and have a portfolio that shows a proficiency in both mediums. The ideal candidate is flexible and adaptable, able to work on assigned deadlines and manage a variety of concurrent projects. This position requires a high level of technical proficiency in a wide range of applications: software, operating systems, printing and prepress technology, web and mobile technology.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of technical proficiency in a wide range of applications: software, operating systems, printing and prepress technology, web and mobile technology.
  • Proficiency in Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Ability to create new ideas and innovative designs/images that convey a message, develop graphics for logos and websites.
  • Ability to work with others, serve others, help others, lead others, mentor others, take directions from others in the interest of moving process and programs forward to the desired outcome.
  • Anticipates and plans for problems before they arise.
  • Responsive, informs constituents of process, pleasant to work with, educates and provides timely, accurate information.
  • Organizes databases and files, manages time and projects effectively, keeps tasks appropriately prioritized.
  • Motivated, diligent, industrious and persistent in the workplace, stays on tasks to completion, works at a fast pace to ensure optimal efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with web development and design, including familiarity with HTML coding and the Drupal web platform.
  • Knowledge of higher education, public health.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with print design and production.
  • Familiarity with information architecture, user experience and user interface principles.
  • Strong visual and written storytelling skills and the ability to translate complex concepts into engaging content.
  • Portfolio that shows a proficiency in both traditional print and digital mediums.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and managing digital content such as graphics, videos, reports, and written materials for social media, websites, newsletters, and digital displays.
  • Support event production through photography and videography.
  • Organize, maintain and update digital media databases.
  • Website design and development.
  • Keep updated on design, production and industry trends, tools and issues. Make recommendations to meeting changing landscapes.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
