Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, supported by a portfolio or relevant writing samples.
  • Experience creating digital and print content, managing website updates, and executing proactive social media and email programs.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SEO, keyword research, website analytics, and paid digital marketing.
  • The ability to interpret performance data and turn it into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with content management systems, social scheduling tools, email marketing platforms, and Google Workspace.
  • Availability to work in person in downtown Minneapolis and comfort visiting active construction sites for occasional video shoots and content coordination
  • Openness to light travel (generally under 5%) for conferences, events, or visits to other Gardner offices, typically planned well in advance and with flexibility to accommodate personal and family needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction, architecture, engineering, B2B, or another professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or a similar CRM or marketing automation platform.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience coordinating video production with internal teams and external partners.
  • A track record of creating processes that make content easier to capture, organize, and reuse.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Bring Gardner’s stories to life through website copy, project narratives, social content, email campaigns, printed materials, and internal communications while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Build a repeatable approach to project storytelling, gathering each story’s key details and adapting them for case studies, proposals, sales materials, project guidebooks, and industry award submissions.
  • Keep our website current and useful by managing day-to-day content, establishing an update cadence, and applying SEO best practices and keyword research to improve visibility.
  • Execute proactive social media and email programs, managing content planning, publishing, campaigns, and contact lists in alignment with brand and business priorities.
  • Support paid marketing efforts by partnering with the Marketing Director and external partners on campaign briefs, messaging, creative assets, timelines, and spending.
  • Coordinate video storytelling alongside the Creative Lead, developing scripts, storyboards, shot lists, and production schedules while managing review cycles, final delivery, and our video library.
  • Turn insights into stronger content by monitoring website, social, email, and paid campaign performance and using client feedback to inform storytelling and communication priorities.
  • Keep work organized and moving by managing timelines, communicating with partners across our Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Duluth hubs, and improving processes that support marketing and business development.

  • Annual Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 (paid weekly) + discretionary bonus.
