About The Position

Children learn better when they can see clearly at school. Since 2012, Vision To Learn has provided over 650,000 pairs of glasses to students in underserved communities across the U.S. We operate mobile vision clinics—optometric exam rooms on wheels—to bring essential eye care directly to the kids who need it most. Now, we’re looking for a storyteller to help our brand look as impactful as the work we do. We aren't just looking for someone to "manage social media." We are looking for a digital native—someone who lives and breathes online culture and knows how to document the world in a way that feels authentic and polished. We have great stories and need a great storyteller to tell them. You will be a creative catalyst in our Los Angeles office, working directly with our marketing leadership to put Vision To Learn on par with the most well-regarded nonprofits in the country.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • A portfolio that proves ability to write, design, and create content that sticks
  • Digitally fluent and understands online trends
  • Refined sense of style and proactive in making improvements
  • Comfortable with new technology, including AI tools
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Possesses a "nothing is too small" customer-service ethos

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-driven tools

Responsibilities

  • Document the "aha!" moment when a child puts on glasses for the first time at school visits and events.
  • Design social graphics, flyers, and event signage using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-driven tools.
  • Manage social media presence on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms, creating compelling short-form video and narratives.
  • Play a key role in the Annual Report and Spring Spectacle fundraiser, ensuring all touchpoints are on-brand.
  • Support internal teams by providing them with templates, toolkits, and assets.
  • Assist with mailings, coordinate shipments, and perform other tasks to support a lean operation.
