About The Position

Reporting to the VP of Marketing for the Automotive Finishes Division, the Marketing Director (MarCom) will lead communications for the Division. This position is responsible for communications strategy, leadership, and program development that drives accelerated sales growth across the Automotive market segments. This role will play a key role in leading strategy, planning and implementation of internal and external communications across the Automotive Division. This role will require the ability to influence matrixed teams across the globe to ensure content consistency, build best practices and guidelines, implement campaigns and measure results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • 10 years experience working in Marketing with knowledge of B2B marketing.
  • Experience leading cross functional projects and matrixed environment.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic concepting and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and set priorities across a broad list of key programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the communication of key initiatives from the Automotive Division’s operating plan to drive business goals.
  • Translate business growth opportunities into actionable marketing communications strategies with a defined target audience, meaningful differentiation, and appropriate activities to execute.
  • Work with market segment leaders and cross-functional marketing teams to create annual marketing communications plans that achieve sales growth and increase brand awareness.
  • Collaborate across Divisions and Group to communicate priorities and support the implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the team in across all internal and external communication initiatives, product launches, demand gen campaigns, press releases, trade shows, internal communications, etc.
  • Oversee the budget for marketing communications initiatives including spend for trade shows, advertising, collateral printing, content generation, merchandising, etc.
  • Serve as a key member of the divisional marketing team, interfacing daily with extended marketing teams, leadership and sales.
  • Coordinate and prioritize projects, clearly communicating the strategy, timeline and expectations.
  • Leverage resources across teams and campaigns wherever possible to drive efficiencies and share best practices to support new account growth.
  • Lead direct and matrixed teams to facilitate localization of campaigns to ensure consistency of campaign materials, optimize impact and measure results across global teams.
  • Measure campaign effectiveness and report both to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead team to deliver brand compliance in consistency, tone, and visuals to support Corporate and Divisional guidelines.
  • Lead planning and execution of the annual automotive sales meeting, supporting all elements of the Divisional event as needed.
  • Lead content and programming for automotive sales meeting including executive speeches, breakouts, agendas and awards ceremony needs.
  • Support of vendor show communication items as needed with the Product Marketing and Associated Products team.
  • Support communication needs for events held throughout the year, including but not limited to training events, group meetings and industry tradeshows
