About The Position

Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant is responsible for providing production support for graphics and social media; set-up and take-down of events, representation of the Co-op at events, and general support of all marketing initiatives, programs, and supplies. The position provides support to all aspects of marketing and branding that engage customers and members, celebrates our products and services in a manner that upholds the values of Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and the cooperative identity.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), social media platforms, email, time clock software, and marketing tools (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, shifting priorities, and paying attention to detail.
  • Experience with in-person customer service.
  • Comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Communicate effectively in oral or written form to staff.
  • Effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain marketing databases.
  • Administer production support for graphics and branding, such as using sign templates, cutting, trimming, and laminating signage and other physical branding.
  • Support marketing tasks, including social media, when needed.
  • Procure products for donations and events.
  • Conduct sign audits regularly and replace and maintain signs as needed.
  • Receive items and deliveries, and maintain back stock and storage of marketing supplies.
  • Assist with the setup and take-down of events. Provide excellent services during events, which may include handling food, and will include weekend and evening/nighttime availability as needed.
  • Provide support in the store and at external events to foster excitement and enthusiasm for the Co-op and drive membership growth.
  • Provide on-site or off-site support on weekends, evenings/nights as needed.
  • Exceed our customers’ expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment for all people and all diverse backgrounds, and in accordance with the Co-op’s customer service standards.
  • Model, provide, and ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and courteous service in a professional manner that markets our cooperative advantage. Help customers make product selections by answering questions and providing information about ingredients in all food items.
  • Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor with all customers and in all situations.
  • Provide prompt and accurate administrative assistance to the department.
  • Maintain department files, records, and electronic databases.
  • Assist in the training of other staff assigned by the Marketing Manager.
  • Attend meetings and events as requested.
  • Demonstrate support for the cooperative values and principles daily.
  • Compile information and contribute to reports as needed.
  • Maintain and update California Food Handler’s Certification as requested by management.
  • Perform other duties and work in other departments as assigned
