About The Position

This position provides leadership in the design and development of marketing and public relations strategies for the College of Education at the University of Wyoming. It involves a strategic approach to integrate all marketing efforts, including website management, social media presence, publications, advertising, multimedia/video content, and communications/press releases. The role aims to enhance the College's visibility and reputation among campus, statewide, and national audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or related focus
  • At least 4 years work-related experience
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing and communication strategies within a college or university setting, with an understanding of academic audiences, enrollment goals, and institutional branding.
  • Proficiency in Digital Content and Analytics Tools
  • Experience managing websites, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and content management systems (CMS), along with the ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize campaigns for engagement and effectiveness.
  • Strong Storytelling and Media Relations Skills
  • Proven ability to create compelling written and multimedia content (e.g., press releases, feature stories, videos) and build relationships with media outlets and stakeholders to enhance organizational visibility and reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and executes marketing strategy for the College of Education, establishing marketing goals and tracking effectiveness.
  • Manages the College's digital, print, and multimedia creative content, including internal/external websites, emails, newsletters, signage, viewbooks, and magazines.
  • Manages College-level social media accounts, generating compelling content and posting in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with College-level stakeholders to achieve marketing goals such as awareness, enrollment, retention, and scholarship.
  • Assists in the development and distribution of internal communications.
  • Supports the College's reputation through press releases, faculty/student highlights, and awareness marketing.
  • Develops and communicates informational programs to enhance perceptions of the organization's accomplishments or agenda.
  • Prepares or edits organizational publications for internal and external audiences.
  • Creates informational content for print, web, and social media formats that supports the University brand.
  • Increases the visibility of the organization in all media areas.
  • Studies objectives and promotional policies to develop public relations strategies that influence public opinion or promote ideas and services.
  • Establishes or maintains cooperative relationships with student groups, governmental representatives, community groups, employee groups, public interest groups, and news media.
  • Identifies trends or key group interests or concerns and advises on staying current with techniques and approaches.
  • Provides a website strategy and plans regular content updates for the external college website while driving internal communication.
  • Provides direction and assistance on the most appropriate way to present information and engage the audience.
  • Writes press releases and coordinates photo opportunities.
  • Coordinates special events to promote relations with students, alumni, retirees, and VIPS.
  • Arranges public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits to increase product or service awareness or to promote goodwill.
  • Works closely with appropriate external resources to ensure efficient functionality of resources.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in training and other professional development activities.
  • Participates in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.
