About The Position

The Market Manager is responsible for managing a banking center efficiently and in accordance with established procedures. This role involves supervising at least two employees, including Universal Bankers, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Banking Center. The Market Manager is cross-trained in all areas of client service, including cash handling, account opening, and wire transfers, and must maintain accuracy, provide excellent client service, and adhere to security and regulatory procedures. This position may also involve guiding and training other Market Managers.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of retail banking operational experience at a supervisory level.
  • Strong business acumen with strong sales ability and persuasiveness skills.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the banking center in an efficient manner and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Supervise at least two or more employees, including Universal Banker(s), and ensure the efficient operation of the Banking Center.
  • Cross-train in all areas of client service including but not limited to cash handling, opening accounts, wire transfers, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy, excellence in client service and maintain appropriate measures relative to security and bank regulatory procedures.
  • Provide guidance and supervise other Market Managers, as needed.
  • Train Market Managers assigned to other Banking Centers.
  • Work with Business Market Leader and Small Business Banker for Banking Center deposit and loan growth, focusing on client retention and identifying new opportunities.
  • Bring and promote referrals to fruition with BML and SBB.
  • Research, prepare and make outbound service calls, ask consultative questions, handle objections, close the referral to the appropriate business line partner, ensure client retention and client service satisfaction.
  • Monitor, review and assist in ensuring financial ticklers are cleared on a timely manner per Bank guidelines.
  • Review Banking Center Statement of Condition to monitor banking center deposit and loan balances.
  • Monitor and hold Business Transaction Reps and/or Business Transaction Leaders accountable for scrubbing leads.
  • Coach Universal Bankers and/or Universal Bankers Seniors to standards set by the Bank for client referrals.
  • Monitor Universal Bankers and/or Universal Bankers Seniors lead scrubbing efforts.
  • Coach Universal Bankers and/or Universal Bankers Seniors to standards set by Bank for lead scrubbing.
  • Provide timely and efficient client service by continuously repositioning staff against daily workflow demands.
  • Make decisions within authority such as check approvals, wires, debit and credit tickets and all other necessary transactions within established limits.
  • Ensure accuracy and adequacy of bank currency and coin supply and verify cash shipments, including ordering and shipping currency & coins.
  • Facilitate the balancing of ATMs and process ATM & night depository deposits.
  • Handle vault duties and ATM reconciliations, as needed.
  • Review night depository logs and ATM envelope processing to ensure adequate handling.
  • Facilitate the balancing of TCRs.
  • Manage the teller line (Universal Banker(s) roll up) and ensure all teller work is correctly & timely scanned through branch remote capture on a daily basis.
  • Ensure banking center key & combo assignments are properly assigned and recorded.
  • Send files and documents for storage following bank guidelines.
  • Serve as backup to the Universal Banker/Universal Banker Sr; perform all paying, receiving and collection functions within the banking center with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform Universal Banker functions as needed.
  • Provide access to safe deposit boxes after verifying client’s identity and right to access.
  • Adhere to cash handling, operational, security, BSA/AML and all other policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary documents for clients to rent, transfer or surrender a safe deposit box.
  • Inspect Safe Deposit documentation for new boxes.
  • Verify that entries to existing boxes are properly recorded.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for closed boxes and drills.
  • Receive and record payments for safe deposit box rent.
  • Follow up on past due safe deposit box rent.
  • Witness the drilling of safe deposit boxes due to lost keys or abandoned property.
  • Prepare abandoned property for escheatment.
  • Monitor and coordinate the SBBs schedule of blocked time for sales activities and prospecting lead calling.
  • Lead by example and hold accountability for own blocked call activity.
  • Monitor and approve overdrafts, determining amount, average balances, patterns, net worth, credit quality, and other client accounts.
  • Perform routine client service functions such as change of address, provide statements, check book orders, ATM/Debit card orders, pin # changes, etc.
  • Organize and maintain files on all clients.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge, including Treasury Management products.
  • Work closely with the Bank’s Treasury Management Department to cross-sell/refer clients.
  • Perform more complex service and branch functions such as inputting and verifying outgoing domestic/international wires according to Board approved authorization limits and in accordance with banking policy and procedures.
  • Work closely with ROC on operational issues, rely on their random spot checking for operational findings and correct findings with their help/suggestions.
  • Conduct random sampling of wire transfers for proper signature, authorized signers and authority levels.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to develop client relations and meet or exceed referral/sales team goals.
  • Make decisions and process overdrafts within assigned limits.
  • Ensure overdrawn accounts are covered in full within bank established timeframes and/or submit accounts to be charged off.
  • Ensure timely submission of all new accounts documents for the Business Banking Center to Director (Signature Cards, KYCs, Copies of Identification, etc.).
  • Ensure Fiserv and system access is adequate based on roles and responsibilities.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and quarterly check-ins.
  • Ensure Account Opening process is followed.
  • Ensure Branch Opening Procedures are being followed.
  • Conduct and ensure Regulation CC, D, and other testing.
  • Review Account Opening procedure (CIPs, NRA documentation, etc.).
  • Test Business Continuity Plan.
  • Investigate or participate in the investigation for losses.
  • Meet the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and follow procedures including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.
  • Approve employee time submissions through the Bank’s system of record.
  • Be responsible as part of the two-member team to open and/or close the branch.
  • Provide spot coaching, help Universal Banker/Universal Banker Senior identify cross selling efforts and lead by example by living and promoting the cultural profile.
  • Oversee several banking centers as directed by management in a proficient manner.
