About The Position
Hawkins Construction, a leading commercial concrete contractor based in the St. Louis region, is expanding into the Columbia, Missouri market. This is a unique opportunity for a high-impact leader with deep, concrete experience to establish and grow a new operation in a strong, active construction market. We are seeking a Market Leader to drive the development, execution, and long-term success of our presence in Columbia, MO. Unlike traditional corporate roles, this position is designed for someone with hands-on industry experience and an understanding of how concrete work is won, managed, and delivered in the field.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial concrete construction (flatwork, structural, or site concrete)
- Strong background in estimating, project management, and field operations
- Established relationships within the Columbia or mid-Missouri construction market preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably from bid through completion
- Self-starter with the ability to operate independently and make critical decisions
- Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage teams over time
Responsibilities
- Lead Market Development: Establish Hawkins Construction’s presence in the Columbia market by developing relationships with general contractors, developers, and owners while identifying and securing new project opportunities.
- Drive Financial Performance: Take ownership of project-level financials, including estimating, budgeting, cost control, and overall profitability of the Columbia operation.
- Execute Work: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field operations for commercial concrete scopes.
- Build Local Operations: Recruit, develop, and lead field personnel and project staff as the Columbia operation grows.
- Strengthening Industry Relationships: Leverage existing connections and build new ones within the local construction community to create a sustainable pipeline of work.
- Ensure Quality & Safety: Maintain Hawkins Construction’s standards for quality workmanship, jobsite safety, and professional execution.
