About The Position

Sazerac Company is seeking a Market Development Representative to be a key partner for off-premise locations (grocery stores, convenience stores, and liquor stores) to achieve volume and distribution sales goals for their diverse spirits portfolio. This role offers daily opportunities to connect consumers with Sazerac brands within an assigned territory. The Market Development Representative will implement and manage innovative solutions to boost business for assigned accounts, use consumer and category trends to educate customers and drive sales, lead distributors with in-store selling and marketing, help achieve volume objectives for core brands, implement programs for distribution, merchandising, display, and retail promotions, develop rapport with customers by understanding their needs, and act as the communication lead between key customers, wholesalers, and internal teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be monitored to ensure goals are met. Job responsibilities may vary by state due to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional field sales experience in alcohol-beverage or CPG (consumer packaged goods) industries. New college graduates are required to have a sales/marketing internship or full/part-time sales role (preferably in consumer-packaged goods) and/or sales competition experience.
  • Proven volume achievements and ability to deliver on distribution and retail promotional goals.
  • Demonstrated successful use of sales data analytics and tools to drive sales results, identify market trends, and produce measurable results.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel within an assigned territory is required.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Live in or near the territory.
  • Ability to personally cover ordinary and essential business expenses that will be promptly reimbursed.
  • Required to obtain a solicitor’s permit in any state.

  • Develop mutually valuable rapport with assigned customers by understanding their needs and requirements.
  • Take center stage as the communication lead between key customers, wholesalers, and our internal dream team.
  • Monitor established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure we consistently reach our goals.
