Market Development Executive

DaZZee IT ServicesKansas City, MO
Hybrid

About The Position

As a Market Development Executive at DaZZee, you will identify, research, and pursue decision-makers across the Kansas City Metro to open conversations about how DaZZee helps businesses run better. DaZZee is a Strategic Operations and Automation Partner, offering managed IT and cybersecurity services, as well as AI and automation solutions. Your role focuses on the front end of the sales process: prospecting, setting and running 15-minute qualifying calls, and then setting discovery appointments before handing off to a closing partner. You will work a structured weekly cadence with coordinated outreach across multiple channels and spend time in the market at industry events. This is an individual contributor role with territory ownership, offering a path to expanded territory and bigger deals within four to six months.

Requirements

  • Genuinely hungry; likes the chase and does not need constant supervision.
  • A track record of hitting a number.
  • Motivated by being measured.
  • Coachable; takes feedback, applies it, and does not repeat the same mistake twice.
  • Comfortable on the phone and in person; can open and hold a cold conversation.
  • Real interest in AI and automation; willing to understand it.
  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation for territory work.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of B2B sales, business development, or another high-activity role where results were measured.
  • Outside or field sales experience.
  • CRM discipline (HubSpot is a plus).
  • Experience selling to small and mid-sized businesses or to municipalities.
  • Existing relationships or familiarity in the Kansas City business community.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect against a focused, well-defined target list rather than a dump of names to dial through.
  • Work in coordinated waves: marketing touches land, and you follow behind them across phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Escalate accounts that show interest with more personal, higher-value outreach, and cycle the rest back for a later pass.
  • Research and identify decision-makers: business owners, operations leaders, city administrators, and IT decision-makers.
  • Keep 100+ prospects in motion at any given time across the territory.
  • Spend a meaningful part of each week in the market, not on the phone, working industry trade groups, association meetings, chambers, golf tournaments, and local business organizations.
  • Make field visits to high-probability accounts in your territory.
  • Build relationships and referral sources that make cold outreach unnecessary over time.
  • Prospect across both Managed IT and cybersecurity, and AI and automation lines of business.
  • Recognize which conversation a prospect is ready for, and understand that the two often lead to each other.
  • Position DaZZee as an operations partner rather than a vendor.
  • Lead a focused 15-minute conversation about how the business actually runs: where work gets stuck, what is done by hand, what keeps them up at night, and what technology is costing them in time or risk.
  • Qualify honestly on fit, timing, budget, and decision authority.
  • Walk away from bad fits early instead of dragging them through the pipeline.
  • Document what you learned so the discovery call starts from something, not from scratch.
  • Set the 15-minute qualifying call with a decision-maker who understands why it is worth their time.
  • Run the qualifying call yourself, confirming fit, surfacing the problem, establishing timing and authority, and earning the next meeting.
  • Set the discovery appointment and hand off to your closing partner with full context.
  • Track and report weekly against the funnel: outreach touches, conversations, qualifying calls set, qualifying calls held, and discovery appointments handed off.
  • Keep HubSpot clean and current so your pipeline is visible to you and to leadership.
  • Bring market feedback and competitive intelligence back to the team.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Tools and technology to do the job well.
