Marine Underwriter
About The Position
This position is open to multiple U.S. locations. Preferably near a U.S. HW Kaufman office location. We are looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, drive for career advancement and desire to develop relationships. The candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our ocean marine liability business. Interested? Join our team! Maintain and grow a book of ocean marine liability business including Hull/P&I, Primary Marine Liability, and Excess Marine Liability as part of the RB Jones Marine team Manage and develop broker relationships Produce new business as well as maintain a book of renewal business Prequalify accounts and utilize underwriting acumen to select sound marine risks Underwrite, rate, quote and bind, profitable new and renewal marine business to meet goals in agreement with underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority Regular national travel as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of marine underwriting experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
- Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail
- Interest in continued education and professional development
Nice To Haves
- Wholesale, MGA or carrier experience preferred
- Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, AMIM or comparable designations preferred
Responsibilities
