About The Position
Ignition Marine, an ISO 9001-accredited marine solutions provider, is seeking an experienced Marine Technician or Senior Marine Technician. This role involves diagnosing complex mechanical issues, executing precision repairs, and upholding high-quality standards on a variety of vessels, from recreational boats to superyachts. The company specializes in yacht sales and brokerage, with a full-service technical department handling mechanical engine repairs, electrical systems, fiberglass fabrication, and vessel refits. They also offer specialized services like marine repowering, insurance claim repairs, skipper services, and canvas fabrication, all supported by certified marine engineers and technicians focused on quality control.
Requirements
- Proven experience servicing yachts.
- Deep knowledge of marine engines and systems.
- Comfortable using tablets and mobile software to track time and submit daily technical reports.
- Genuine passion for mechanics and troubleshooting; self-motivated and able to launch into productive work.
- Patient, respectful, and capable of working collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
- A valid driver’s license is a requirement.
- Ability to maintain loyal customer relationships.
- Personally resilient, with the capacity to demonstrate a growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
Nice To Haves
- Certifications in MAN, Mercury, Yamaha, Volvo, or Cummins are a significant asset.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair diesel and gas marine engines (MAN, Cummins, Volvo, Mercury) and onboard systems (hydraulics, electrical) with zero-error precision.
- Be comfortable working in tight engine rooms, crawling into confined spaces, and operating in cold or hot weather conditions.
- Submit daily reports with photos and videos for every task, ensuring 100% quality control.
- Approach every job with a problem-solving mindset to rectify complex issues.
- Treat every vessel with "white-glove" respect, ensuring work areas remain pristine and tools are returned to their proper place daily.
