About The Position

This position requires a background check, US Citizenship, a confidential security clearance, and a CAC. The role involves conducting ship checks, inspections, and surveys to assess the material condition and operational readiness of marine shipboard HM&E components and systems. The surveyor will also assess compliance with regulatory standards and ship specifications. A key aspect of the role is working in a team-oriented environment, interfacing with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to meet commitments and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in marine and complete ship engineering systems, including diesel, steam, gas turbine, and electric high voltage propulsion systems, auxiliary shipboard systems, marine electrical systems, deck equipment, shipboard system equipment troubleshooting, and generator overhauls. Additionally, the role involves developing equipment operating instructions, manuals, and testing procedures for main propulsion and auxiliary systems aboard various shipboard platforms to ensure proper operation within manufacturer and regulatory requirements (ABS, USCG, Naval, and MSC).

Requirements

• Background check, US Citizenship, confidential security clearance, and a CAC are requirements for this position.
• Eight (8) years in the marine industry with experience on commercial or US Naval Ships
• Experience working with ship and ship system design principles and practices.
• Experience in commercial ship operations with an emphasis on material readiness and maintenance studies, reliability engineering and technical data review.
• Applicant must be highly skilled in both oral and written communications and be capable of productive and efficient work with limited or no supervision while interacting effectively with all departments throughout the organization.
• Must be willing to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
• Possess strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve common problems and issues related to the job. Strong, proven problem-solving skills.
• Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with maritime fuel systems, refrigeration systems (HVAC), compressed air systems, auxiliary shipboard systems, and piping systems desired
• Experience with: Main Propulsion Systems and associated equipment; working with applicable regulatory, commercial, and military standards and classification society rules desired
